Garden Concept
Keio Floral Garden, a renewal of the Keio Hyakkaen, was planned based on its original geographical features and plants. In order to change the Japanese garden impression to a Western one, the pond in front of the entrance was planted with water lilies to create an image of Monet's pond. In addition to that, an extra effort was made to plant Satozakura (Prunus lannesiana cv. prupurea) trees, which give off a Western image, around the huge Somei Yoshino (Prunus yedoensis ) tree. On the south side, we planted 200 Magnolias of 30 variations. It is very rare for Magnolias, well-known for its elegant and fragrant flowers,to be planted in such great numbers in a single garden. The white pink, purple, and yellow variations are spectacular. A true metropolitan oasis, we hope those of you who love gorgeous flowers and greenery enjoy this place as a private garden !
